Who has done the ride and can give me some hard, cold facts about the trail...terrain, level of difficulty?  What about the 100 vs. the 50?  Thanks!

I LOVE this ride.  Well actually, all the rides that are on this trail. (Chicken Chase, Top of the Rock, Spook Run)  Loops are 25, 15 and then 10. (for the 50).. I haven't done the 100 there.. but I am crossing my fingers, for this year. (just don't tell Savage yet <g>)

There are DEFINITE hills.  Gravel, some black top.. And some remarkable views, some switch backs, woods, fields.  Just don't underestimate the climbs.  There are a few big ones.  But very beautiful.  I pad in the front for rides here. (not that I like to worry, Savage got a pretty good stone bruise here)  Bees can some times be a misfortune. (trust me here!)

At Top of the Rock this year Bob McAfee was commenting on how well the pull rate has been!  Well, that day turned out to be the biggest pull rate to date (I think it was something like 20 pulls, out of 47) .  He then decided he would never mention this again.  Bad luck!  The heat was unbearable for a lot of riders and horses.  Combine that with hills and you better have done your homework. (or hillwork)

Talk to Gene and Shelley Dake, they have been there.

We camp at Bill Wilson's.  Great place for camp.  THANK YOU BILL.  And Lois, Bob, Amy Whellan for giving us some great rides in Indiana!

You can email me privately if you want more info. Or you could always email Bob and Lois.  They are great people... They'll gladly tell ya anything you want to know about it.

Maggie, are you planning on the Nationals?

    Hope to see you there.
