    This is not the first year Strangles has gone around at 
a ride in the west.  The best way to prevent it appears
to get the nasal strangles vaccine from your vet.  If it
is the first one, make sure to boost it 3 weeks later.
Boost every year after that.  I think this bug showed
up 3 or 4 years ago.  You can check the archives.  All
the discussion about it back then should be there.
