The rest fof thsi post having good emrit, there is one additional truth - easier to win when someone else has taken said top quality horse and laready put the work into the horse and PROVEN that said horse is worth the final development. With so many unknowns in a good endurance horse - all those intrinsic qualities and immeasurable parts of a good one - how wonderful to BUY a horse who has already demonstrated that he or she is capable at a high level. Just cuts the odds considerably. Not to diminish a win - hopefully one not at the expense of the horse - the truth is that if we MAKE a star then SELL it, we can expect to be BEATEN by it.
