    That you can start after the pack. So, just because you check in with 
    the timer doesn't mean you have to start with the group. My first ride was 
    a muddy, story 25 (that last horrible Bankhead ride for those SE riders 
    on the list) and the first 15 miles of that was in dead runaway mode :(
    
    That's dangerous not only for the rider but dangerous for everyone else 
    around (Howard, are you listening???). 
    
    Since I was lucky enough to live throught that experience I decided it 
    would never happen again - and it hasn't. I start late, stay home and 
    train, get off and walk, whatever I gotta do so the start is as sane as t 
    can be given that 30 - 50 horses are taking off at once :)
