[RC] adequan and ?generic adequan? - Debby Stai

Big question, can anyone tell me the difference between adequan and what everyone is calling "generic adequan" which I believe is actually Chondroprotec.  I'd called and asked my vets office for adequan for a horse that is stiff, we'd used adequan in the past with great results, and they called and said my chondroprotec was in, so further investigation I find out it is not THE adequan I'd wanted.  Can anyone tell me if they think this works as well as the adequan?  I had used Chondroprotec on a horse last year thinking it was generic adequan as that is how it was referred to and now I'm hearing they are not the same thing.  Very confusing.  The horse I'd used the chondroprotec did not have any improvement and we figured the stifle problem was too far gone, now I'm wondering if I'd used the adequan to begin with, if we'd seen some improvement.  Thanks.  Debby in Mo
