Re: [RC] Missing shoe - C. Eyler

    Maggie,

Money is not the issue here. I found a rear shoe missing on Saturday of
Labor Day Weekend, and have a ride with friends in another part of the state
scheduled for Monday of Labor Day Weekend.

If it had been a front shoe lost,. I would just have cancelled my plans and
left a message for my farrier. Based on past experience, he would come out
on Tuesday or Wednesday to replace the lost shoe. No way would I expect him
to come on a holiday weekend (unless I was heading out for a competition, in
which case I would call and beg and try to bribe LOL). This farrier comes
to the (boarding) farm every week, and I'll have the shoe(s) replaced on
    Friday. We're scheduled for a re-set a week later.

I can't help but think that the difference between his left and right hind
feet could cause stress and strain to his hind end on what is for us a long
ride. I do not have the skill or tools to remove the shoe, but I can get
    help with that.
