[RC] you are lucky to have found a good vet/ dentist!!! - Colleen Jones

In our neck of the woods, we are lacking in equine health care. The only guy who anyone can afford who is any good is NOT a vet. He has worked with his father on the track for years and can float just about anything without tranquilizer. I had to see him do my TB mare to believe it. I had her done before with it and a vet and they couldn't even get the job finish because she didn't want her teeth touched  but I still had to pay full price :) How come I could never give anyone part of a perm on their hair and still charge them full price LOL?? Our other vet just puts the file in and doesn't even look at what he's doing. That's proven worthless. I have a boarding stable so I have seen them all in action. The only guy that is left, used to be a great vet but he didn't want to do that anymore so now if you have him out for dentistry you can't ask him anything vet related. He has all kinds of equipment and puts the horses head on a stand after he tranqs. it. The non-vet dentist does just a good of a job for a third of the price. Don't even think of moving here and trying to breed your mare A.I., its a circus! Be thankful for your great equine health care.
