I also use 100 - 150 gallon tanks. I tried the goldfish
thing they could not keep up with my tea makers. This year being worried
about mosquitoes I got from the health department fish that eat
mosquitoes. They were even smaller than the goldfish so someone told me
about snails. I bought about 5 for each tank and starting with clean tanks
they have done a pretty good job. A couple of times I took a fish net and
cleaned up some algae that was purging.
