    RE: [RC] WNV - kellers

    Hello all,
Well I can tell you west nile is rearing it's ugly head here in North Dakota.Looks like the north and south have something in common. Wish it were something else.
I have vaccinated all my horses.  There are 27 cases at the local vet, last count, I heard  Monday on the local news there were 297 cases so far in the state. They don't give bird numbers, too many I guess. As for the birds. I wonder too. What this will do to the ducks and geese that fly though here every fall.  A man brought 3 bags of dead black birds into the vet office a week ago where my daughter worked, until she was off to collage.
And we have atlas 6 weeks of bug season left. We are wishing, and praying for a early killing frost.
Had a friend lose her horse last week,  it was a long fight .She treated her for 3 weeks and she just couldn't stand to see her suffer any more,so put her down. Only a mile away.
Another friend just called last night her horse come down on with WNV, Monday.  Their are 4 miles away. She used vaccine! Only first shot, one day before the boosted was due. My friend Barb is a vet( she not working now, home schooling her kids).  If theres no change by next Monday she going to put him down too. He's pretty bad.
So it's getting more then a little worry some here.
I'm sure the standing water has allot to do with who gets it worse. And lets face it  this part of North Dakota is a big pothole. I'm thinking it is going to be a yearly thing here. Hopefully most horses will be vaccined. And hopefully it will work. But with Barb's horse I'm stating to worry.

On a happier note, could someone help me out.I'm looking at a 6 year old gelding for sale. He's rescue, named Bema Lancer #0533705.  They say he's well bred, just wondering if some one could look him up? I'm not sure he's what I'm looking for. I had my mine on a yearling, to work with for a few years. But theres something about this horse, was looking at adds and it just popped out at me.
Tami ( out to spray the horses again)
Indie, Annie, and Billy( hey here she comes again, and  whats this about aonther horse?)
