[RC] Resignation from AERC DAL - Roger Rittenhouse

    AERC MEMBERS

I have resigned from the AERC BOARD OF DIRECTORS as your DIRECTOR at LARGE.

The below statement was read to the board at the close of the past BOD meeting.
I will NOT discuss any of the issues and incidents that lead me to this action.
To do so would be inappropriate and counter productive for AERC and me.

I came to this conclusion after many days of deliberation and discussion with my wife.
I took this action in the best interest of myself (wife) and AERC.
This is not a real tragedy folks. AERC and the BOD functioned just fine without me prior to my BOD tenure.
Nothing will change, AERC will move on, and rides will be ridden.

    I offer the following analogies.
You take a job with a firm, and you believe you are qualified to perform the tasks required.
You then find out you are not very compatible, and problems exceed your level of acceptance.
    You hate your job.
I took this job far too serious, there is more to life then AERC and
    the BOD.
It's just a bunch of horse riders, riding horses with a few rules about how we do it.
This was sort of like that ride we have all had, 'just not doing right', so I took the RO and pulled.

We (Carol and I) are going to do other trails and adventures with our horses.
We both have developed a lessor need to ride AERC endurance rides.

I apologize to those who had confidence in my ability.
I was not cut out for this, I am NOT a politician. I made a mistake.
My replacement, (I think I know who he is) will be great.

I will be at number of rides this year as well as the NC.
Just stop by have a drink and talk about horses.
    Roger R - JAR (just a rider)

    AERC
    President of AERC
    AERC Board of Directors.

I have given much thought to the reason I choose to associate myself with the management of the AERC.
This relationship as a DIRECTOR At Large has been other then anticipated.

Due to un-resolvable relationship issues with members of this board, policy and politics rendered
and implement by members and the President of the Organization,
    and extended "irreconcilable differences",
I submit my resignation as a Director of AERC,
effective at the close of the 2002 mid year board meeting. Aug 25 2002.
