The infamous never-quite-goes-away helmet thread.

Scott, we never wore helmets either.  One of my friends 
was in a coma after she fell off a horse and hit her head.
The horse didn't do anything.  She just slipped off. She 
was in a coma for 5 days.  Then she died.  We were in the 
5th grade.  The body in the casket didn't look like her. 
The body in the casket looked like a doll.  She was a rowdy, 
fun loving, horse loving, vivacious young girl.

I've said this before, a helmet might have saved 2 lives 
that day.  Hers and her mom's.  Her mom was never the same.
