Perhaps the style of the saddle makes a difference. I previously rode in a
barrel style Sports Saddle with the stirrups in the regular position and
ended most rides with a bruise over the front of my pelvis. I now ride in
the endurance model with the stirrups set back an inch and a half and I don't
have that problem at all. I don't know if it's the change in style or the
change in the stirrups, but I LOVE the new saddle. I also ordered a 15 1/2
inch seat instead of the 15, thinking that would help, but now wish I hadn't.
I believe that it was the stirrup position more than the seat size that was
causing all of the bumping for me.
