    I had exactly the same problems.
    
    You have two choices:
    
    #1, deal with it.  I have it on pretty good authority that you will gain
    your balance back with lots of practice and quit banging into the front of
    the saddle.  Eventually.  :)
    
    #2, sell it and order one with the stirrups set forward in the trail saddle
    position.  This is what I did and I'm very happy with mine.  I post and
    two-point with no problem with the stirrups set forward.
    
    If you want to find out if the stirrups in the forward position is indeed
    what's eating your lunch, switch out the stirrups and the girth (put the
    girth where the stirrups are now and vice versa) and try a test ride.
