[RC] Rest Interval between rides - Ridecamp Guest

    Betty Washburn washburnb@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
TIA for the list's collective wisdom.

We are planning to do BigSouthFork 2 day Sept 6 & 7, and then
Biltmore Sept 28. So, about 3 weeks between the 2 rides.

We did 2 slow 50's in June after many LDs in the past couple of
years. We are only moderately fit due to the awful heat the
past 2 months. Conditioning 2x per week about 12 miles each.

I originally planned to do 50s on both days of BSF to be
followed by a 50 at Biltmore 3 weeks later. Now, I am thinking
that it may be wiser to do 50/25 (or even, 25/25) at BSF; to
be followed by 50 3 weeks later. I don't mind at all taking
the entire ride time to do any of the rides. We are getting
    ourselves back in shape.

If I try for 50's all 3 days, is the 3 weeks interval enough
recovery time, given this scenario? Or do you all think that
some combination of reduced mileage would be wiser?
    Thanks, Betty.
