[RC] recovery times for LDs - Dot Wiggins

I find the information on post ride recoveries for 50 milers interesting, and agree there is need for clarification.  Have heard several rather heated arguments on this.

However nothing has been said about clearing up the possible differences of opinion in the LD finishing criteria.

One result of the "must recover within the 6 hr limit" is effectively reducing the actual available riding time to 5 hours for 25 miles, assuming a 30 minute hold during the ride.
If this is felt to be a practical speed for beginning riders and horses, fine.  Should have little effect on seasoned riders doing LDs for whatever reason.
It does clearly treat LDs and endurance finishes differently.

What ever the BoD and LD committee feels is best, get it clearly stated and published.
