[RC] fear after an injury - Ridecamp Guest

    betty washburn washburnb@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Got kicked on the trail for following too close. My fault.
Knew my ridebuddy's mare was iffy, but both she and my mare
had always got along well as long as the ride was just the
2 of us. Add the ridebuddy's gelding into the trail ride,
and----her mare tried to nail Echo; big time. Because Echo
was "too close" to Her gelding. Sooo: I got bammed on myknee,
and it has taken almost a year to get the knee functional.
Irony: My ride buddy's horse is just as protective about
my mare, Echo, who she tried to kick when she got me instead,
as she is about any other horse. As long as it isn't one of
HER pasture mates along for the ride. Definitely an alpha
    mare.
So, the fear thing. I was afraid of my own horse; while I
was laidup, I had a wannabe ride her. My first time back
on the trail I rode my wannabepal's "deadkbroke" horse to
    get my confidence back.
