[RC] more runaways - Brenda L. Kossowan

Can I add another yarn? Now remember, I got the SUD ( sudden unplanned
dismount) while good old Flash was bolting through some summerfallow,
back in the pre-helmet days. Last year, my first season under the lid as
it were, I got a front seat view and why the damn things are there.
I was out in the mountains with some friends, using a borrowed horse to
    do some trail cleanup.
The borrowed horse didn't like the way I put my right leg in the
stirrup, and took off in a running buck. I've got three generations of
cowboy in my bloodstream, so I held in there, using his mouth to keep my
    butt in the saddle.
He was almost bucked out when the stirrup broke. I sailed through the
air, helmeted head first, and landed among a group of boulders. Pieces
of the broken stirrup were still on the ground when I got to my feet.
Fellow riders were running up to see how I was doing. Fine, I said, then
    sunk back down.
Gotta get back on that horse.
Nope - your heads all screwy.
    What time is it?
You ride Misty, Larry can ride your horse.
OK. Misty? I'm not OK, am I? Can I ride Misty? Really? That's cool.
I started to get my senses back after about 30 minutes on the trail -
still holding the saddle horn to try and keep my balance on a tall grey
mare when I had originally mounted a stocky red gelding.
The gelding's owner still won't let me ride him. And she doesn't seem to
    want her helmet back.
I've got a brand new Troxel brain cage to help keep my eggs from getting
    any more scrambled.
