Angie, I can certainly hook you up with the club president, she knows all
that stuff and is my riding partner. The club has a city liaison, we attend
all the city council meetings. Since they have equestrians written in the
city charter and have been this way for decades, every alley is actually a
trail, we have nice homes-no goats or cars up on blocks allowed in your
yard, etc, and we fight to maintain it. Not everyone owns horses by a long
shot, but when a new development went in and protested the horse trails they
brought it to city council and lost. Horse rights rule out here. Many of the
trails are city land, have pass thrus to keep out motorized vehicles and are
maintained. They are always working on more too. I have approx. 30 miles of
groomed, packed sand trails with white vinyl fencing through this and the
neighboring town, plus trails in the woods and mountains. Our riding club is
aggressive with the city about trails, land uses and new developments. As I
said, it truly is heaven. The AltaLoma riding club has it's own website,
with links to our club pres and city liaison. You can get in contact with
them. I'm mulling the idea of having a ride here sometime in the next few
years. More than enough trail. For those familiar, I can ride to Devor,
Padua, or Lytle creek all from my front door! Heck, I could probably ride to
    Nevada:)
    Website is www.altaloma.ridingclub.org
Truly a great horse community to live in. The vet even lives next door to
the equestrian center, which is gorgeous, and huge!
Yea, I pay 10 bucks a bale for Bermuda (130 lb), and gas is 1.38, but I can
mount in my front yard and be with the wildlife in 20 minutes.
    Tiffany
