RE: [RC] Will ingredients test in these joint products - Bob Morris

Why is it that the first question asked about supplements is
"WILL IT TEST?" when in all reality the first question
should be "ARE THESE SUPPLEMENTS NECESSARY FOR MY HORSE TO
    BE IN COMPETITION!"

If they are not necessary, then why use them?

I haven't had time to play in here much lately, but I have a
    spare second so
I'll touch on this (supplements have my interest as of late
    as a
    nutritionist)--MSM has anti-inflammatory properties. If I
    remember an
earlier topic on this correctly, that makes it subject to
    the rules banning
    such substances.

Also, the FDA is finally getting around to doing some
    concentrated testing
on several types of nutritional supplements in humans(about
    time,IMO), and
those containing chondroitin and glucosamine are in the
    targeted groups.
The results of the studies may have an impact on the use of
    such things in
    horse products down the line.

Lisa (who has been hog-tied and hobbled by her computer
    lately...doesn't it
know I'm already broke to stand quietly??)
