Last time I checked, I was named Amanda Perez, and at least in the arhives (how I read, and post to RC) 'APerez' shows with the posting: I am not trying to hide behind anonymity.
I only meant to 1) advocate salt water for soaking deep wounds - it works - and 2) repeat something that none other than a verterinary student, Susan Garlinghouse, had posted here on ridecamp regarding treatment of wounds and what they currently advocate in vet school. I did not mean to cast any aspersions, ruffle any feathers, or offend in any way. In case anyone is interested, Susan's comment from the RC archives, follows (asterisks added for emphasis are mine):

"I've never used Schreiner's, so don't know what's in it or how effective it is or anything else. But I'll just repeat what we were taught earlier this semester in Wound Management,

**** that you should never put anything in contact *****
**** with open tissue (ie, a wound) that you would'nt *****
**** willing put into your own eye. They were pretty *****
    **** adamant about it. *****

What we were told is that anything that stings is also going to cause damage to the exposed cells and that's going to impede wound healing, not help it."

So that's what them what's supposed to know are saying about would management. But hey - don't let anyone elses expertise threaten your own favorite nostrums, ok? Heaven forbid we learn from each other.

Why is everyone so touchy lately? Hot weather got your knickers in a twist?

    Mellow out, guys!
