[RC] Haggin cup clarification - Ridecamp Guest

For those suggesting "political" judging or anything else, the Haggin Cup judging by the vets of Tevis is probably the best pure evaluation of the horse done at any ride. The whole group of vets (15 or so)watch all the horses, have all of the metabolic info, then meet after the presentation and can review videotape of any of the horses presented. Usually it has been narrowed to 2 or 3 unanimously, then just these are discussed. If there is any division, the vets may anonymously vote their preference, then turn it into a non-voting secretary who tallies the votes to determine the ranking. As I said previously, these are then presented to the Cup Committee for any non-vet issues. Weight, time, who the rider is, what the rider looks like, etc. are not important; the horse is important and the vets take this award VERY seriously and are thrilled when there are several that look good enough to be seriously considered, as was the case this year.
