[RC] Tevis & some thank you's! - Trailrite

First of all I want to state that this years Tevis was so well planned.  From the very start it was full of wonderful and helpful volunteers.  The feeling you get at each stop with these hard working people is matched to none.  They are right there when you come in and will stick with you waiting for anything you might need or want.  I will have my water bottles filled, my horse sponged down, feed brought to him in less time than it takes for any other ride with personal crew.  Once again...THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS, your wonderful!
I also want to Thank Jami Kerr for the changes that were made in vetting issues.  I felt these were good ones.  I didn't have the feeling this year of not talking about my horses little issues that were scary to do so with the vets.  I really want to be able to feel I can talk to a vet with an open mind.  This year was the first time I was able to feel I could, and it not only helped me, but it helped my horse in the long run.
The ride is the same and it is tough, and every year something will make it a different challenge.  Like this year I feel it was the humidity.  With all of the riders starting in this difficult ride, things will happen with a few.  The best advice I could give to someone to prepare for the Tevis is....be experienced at riding technical trails.  Be very in tuned with reading your horse and best of all...go into this ride with the feeling of experiencing a wonderful challenge with lots of beauty.
I would like to thank the people that helped me make it though Robinson's and Michigan.   They are my friends that showed up and helped TR Sharkee and myself get a finish.  Without them being there making me eat, and taking care of Sharkee, I'm not sure that we would have completed this year.  I had no crew show up until Foresthill this year.  So if it wasn't for them taking the time out to help us...who knows what would have happened.  Thank you so much, Cecelia, Rebecca, Brook, and the rest of Lisa Scheider's crew for being there for us!  Thanks Lisa for sharing your crew!
I also want to Thank my own crew & driver for helping and taking wonderful care of TR Sharkee before, at Foresthill and staying up for all the after care of his well being.  Thank you, Judy and Carol.
