Ridecamp: [RC] need layover suggestions in MI UP/Minnesota

Hi MidWest Region friends,
    Two of us Californians are coming your way soon
to do the Shore to Shore ride.  From Michigan we're heading home via
Minnesota, then South Dakota.  Can anyone suggest a layover spot for
2 rigs/4 horses in the UP or Wisconsin?  I'll be heading for St. Cloud,
MN but my friends may head further south looking for Laura Ingalls Wilder
sites.
    Alternatively, can I get to St. Cloud in one day
from near Traverse City, MI?
    Thanks a bunch!  Maybe we'll get to meet some
of you at the ride!  Laura will be flying a California flag on her
rig.
