Anyone that thinks the RM's are making money should try to put on a ride sometime.  If by chance you do make a small profit, trust me you are still in the hole if you divide it by the hours and hours the RM and the secretary and the various other people put in.

BRAVO, BRAVO.  Way to put it, maybe that will get folks to think.

From the time I was young... My parents put on a dozen or so rides....  And I can tell ya, from all my years of being the secretary/book keeper/ money taker..... IT DON'T PAY SQUAT.  not didly.  After a few gray hairs you sit back and say.... Phew!

It takes time, money, sweet, tears and a lot of beer, to put on a ride. <g> (that was the only thing that would get my dad down the trail w/ a chain saw in hand, dangle a beer in front of him)  Not to mention the people you have to KIDNAP, so you have someone to help, and their beverage of choice.

Yes, there is a fine line between SKY high entry fees and ones us "Common" folk can afford.... But come on folks... If you can't swing that ride fee... look for another and DON'T WHINE.

Ride Managers DESERVE your applause and gratefulness.
Hasn't anyone heard of "You have to PAY to PLAY"?  <g>  Can anyone think of anything that costs the same as it did back in the 70's?

Have a nice weekend all, We are off to Oak Leaf Run... Hope to see a few of you there.  Oh dear, another entry fee x 2.... Plus these OUTRAGEOUS gas prices and oh yea, the baby-sitter wants money and then there is the beer. <g>
