Re: [RC] youth/ drugs - Truman Prevatt

I doubt if any of the equestrian sports have mass appeal. But of all there a lot more thrills and spills in a horse flipping over a jump and smashing a rider to about the thickness of a pancake:-(.

What the explanation was is this age group is a lot less conservative in spending their money, much more impulsive and much more swayed by advertising than the boomers. I guess there is some truth to "with age comes wisdom."

I heard a very interesting piece on NPR about "sports
    marketing" the
other day. The prime audience for advertising seems to be
    the 18 to 34
age group. Males in this age group tend to watch sports
    more than any
    other age group.

Very interesting.. I doubt wether this age group would
watch the equestrian stuff compared to say the women. And
then there is the buying power of the younger age group vs
the older "baby boomers". You would think they would target
the group with the most disposable dollars per capata. Then
again I guess it dosn't take a whole lot of bucks to buy a
    12 pak of x beer...lol
I wonder if endurance will have the mass appeal that say
the "thrills and spills" of eventing does?
