    I never considered buying dolomite from the health food store (it never even
    crossed my mind that they'd have it).
    
    Talk to your local feedstore and see if they can order you some calcium
    carbonate (and also some magnesium oxide, depending upon your electrolyte
    recipe).  My feed guy ordered mine from a smaller feed mill he uses and got
    big sacks of it pretty cheap.
    
    My problem has been locating lite salt in large enough quantities.  I only
    have the smaller-capacity ones available locally.
    
    I have 12 horses of my own and share electrolytes with our local foxhunt, et
    al, therefore I too need to mix in large quantities.  This has been the most
    cost-effective route so far.  Good luck.
