[RC] barefoot in mountains - Jeff Brickson
Just for reference, last year on our 25 mile CTR in (rocky) PA mountains,
there were two barefoot horses (ie, no easyboots, no nothin'). They
completed, near last, so did make the time (time window dictates ave. speed
to be 6mph; they went slower), but got points off for excessive hoof wear.
The riders said they decided to shoe next time. I think it would shorten
recovery time. bb
