    I'm with Jennifer regarding lungeing as exercise. It's murder on joints
    and should be used for traning only. Stephanie, your horse is not going
    to lose condition in four weeks. Just keep her on a maintenance diet
    while she's not working - no grain! And make sure she has a good turnout
    every day if she's not on pasture.
    BTW - knees are very slow healers. Good luck. I found that riding seems
    to make them stronger, as long as you have suitable stirrups and a comfy
    saddle (thanks again Paddi for ordering the EZ rides. Where is my
    invoice?).
