[RC] Riding in the Dark - JanCol

    Hi All,

I am doing my first ride in the dark this weekend, the Moonlight in VT 50.
Ride starts at 2 PM so expect to do last 15 miles or so in the (hopeful) moonlight.
Any preparation suggestions would be appreciated:

Glowsticks on horse, good or bad for visibility or to be seen?
    Reflectors on horse and/or rider?
How to deal with disorientation?  I have a grey horse so should be able to see him?
How difficult is it to follow the glowstick markers?

There will be 100 milers on the trail as well as approximately 250 marathon runners, so it shouldn't be lonely.  Anyone have experience riding in the dark with runners and flashlights, etc., on the trail?

    Thanks for any input.
Jan and Fable in CT (wondering why he had to wake up to go riding at 10 PM the other night)!
