Is there any data that a black horse is harder to cool and pulse down as

I well known breeder made mention after receiving an honor at the US Nationals that there were very few greys in the show ring compared to 20 years ago. He was concerned that people were not breeding greys anymore. I told him all the greys are now doing endurance. Without a doubt there are a majority of greys compared to any other color. All I can figure is greys cool better. I am not sure if that is true or not but I do know black absorbs heat and white reflects as far as basic color goes.
