    Try the Roper boots.  They are high top athletic style boots made for riding with the full athletic cush inside.  They have a steel shank in them that reduces stress on the ankle unlike athletic sneakers. They last quite well also and I have used them for camping and some hiking.

    I also like Ariat paddock boots.  They are somewhat lighter weight but about twice the price.
