    Actually softball was created because it could be played on a smaller field than baseball. Had nothing to do with "those not quite ready to play baseball." It's a lot easier to find a field that will support softball than one that will support baseball.

    That being said, Angie, don't get all high and mighty over a female professional softball pitcher striking out Reggie. First of all Reggie Jackson is know as Mr. October and a lot of people struck out Reggie in months beside Oct. And Reggie is now an old man and probably just needed the money. Now if she wants to take a crack at Barry Bonds that might be a different story.
