Re: [RC] ENDURANCE NOT - FASTGraphic

Well, I see the LD rides as a great opportunity for me - even though I
do the longer rides! :o) The LD's mean my wife comes along. LOL At my
first 50, she did the 10 mile Poker Ride. At my second 50, she did the 30.
I think the LD rides are fabulous.
The other great thing about an LD ride is the experience gained. Ginger
wants to do Endurance, but doesn't feel her horse is adequately prepared.
She is therefore using the LD to ease him into the sport. She rode the
Malibu 30 as though it were the first leg of the 50. Paid a lot of attention
to pace, etc., and ended with some horse under her after a tough and HOT 30!
I have a rather libertarian view on life (LOL - no kidding) so I think
people should get out of the LD whatever they choose. I understand what it
was originally started for, but things do evolve. As long as there is
nothing there which besmirches the reputation of our sport, and the rules
remain such that it can still be used as a training ground, etc. by those who
    so desire, I say enjoy!
