Re: [RC] Malibu Ride - Lynne Glazer

    Elaine Patterson
It seems that some people have an intensely skewed vision and
version of Laura Toston and her junior riders. So much time and
energy is wasted on what seems to be a personal vendetta against
someone who regularly wins and has horses that are fit enough to go
at a fast pace and pass vet checks with ease.

Elaine, there was a formal protest about her trail behavior last year which has been upheld--she was found guilty! The Protest and Grievance committee does not take action lightly, nor in haste.

"Time and energy wasted" I don't think so--stuff like this has a lot
to do with whether we can continue to have rides on public and
private land. The perception of others of our sport matters!

This was Monica Woodmanís first time as a Ride Manager, what a horrible initiation, for someone so eager and excited to run the Malibu Ride. . Elaine Patterson #7077

If this is the only thing controversial about the ride Monica
managed, she should be happy. First time ride management is never
easy, even if it is taking over a long-time ride.

Anytime riders don't ride their horses according to the weather
conditions, IT WILL BE CONTROVERSIAL, and is not the ride manager's
    fault.

I am speaking from experience. One horse nearly died at my ride
last year, after crossing the finish line. If I didn't have enough
vets there, it would have been my problem. (And with 6, we nearly
    didn't have enough...)

It ain't an easy job, and takes a strong person to pull off.

    Lynne
