What are you feeding your endurance horses and how much of it?
One can really get caught up in all this feed stuff and spend a whole lot of
money for nothing.
Right now mine is getting a combo of grass hay and alfalfa - more grass than
alfalfa.
I also have Strategy and some Omelene and Stride (vitamin supplement).
It's such a hit and miss because I'm not feeding anywhere near the
recommended dosages. If I were to give what they recommend for the Strategy
which would be at least 4 pounds a day - I'd be going through bags and bags
of the stuff in no time.
All I'm looking at for my horse is something that will give him sustained
energy that is safe without loading him up with hot sweet feed.
I have been at this for years. And in the past have tried different things
including just giving cracked corn, rolled oats, barley and a vitamin
supplement. Also soaked beet pulp.
With everything out there on the market - I'm so confused again!
