RE: [RC] Helmets - Carolyn Burgess

    Title: Message
I never really considered that a helmet wouldn't protect from all head injuries until my personal experience with this.  I have come off of the horse that caused this injury in the exact way she did (off to the side and landing on my back on the ground), but I had no obstacles to smack the back of my head on.  When I came off on this horse, we were trail riding, he passed some gas, it made a noise that scared him, he spooked and I ended up on the ground, flat on my back looking up at him.

Also remember, that when you have a crash, get your helmet inspected or just spend $50 and get another one.

That's what scares me about the new Range Rider helmets, they seem to leave a lot more of the back of the head uncovered.  While I'm sure this is cooler, I'm not sure I want that much exposure.
