[RC] Thanks Susan and Mike Londe - Happy Jack - Teresa Van Hove

Want to thank Susan and Mike Londe for managing the Happy Jack ride
the 15th. Would love to give details but even though I attended the
awards ceremonies I cant remember anything -- cant even claim DIMR,
either (not really anyway) as I decided the best call would be to
switch to the 30, as it was obviously going to be a pretty tough
mtn ride, and while Grey might have been ready for a fairly easy
50, it would not have been a good idea to enter a tough 55.

I really enjoyed myself, and even got my 'baby' out after I
finished up with Grey. Shade must be a party animal, she was
a much bolder acting, nicer ride than she's been at home lately.
Grey reminded me of his old behaviour when fit. Incredibly laid
back at home, incredible pulling on me, wanting to race at the
ride. I have got to get a german martingale lined up before the
next ride (or forget the sidepull the 1st loop, but I'm trying to
avoid putting a bit in his mouth when I know he's not going to
round to it ... fat chance of that in the excitement of a ride)

Randy Osbourne, and a new rider whose name I'm forgetting (terrible)
were really good sports. A rider was injured and Randy cut back to
camp to call out the rescuers and then he led them to where she was.
The other fellow stayed with the injured rider an hour and a half,
till the rescue folks got to her and then went on and finished the LD.
That evening Randy hauled home the horses that the injured rider
had brought to the ride. It was great to be reminded how nice
the folks on our sport can be, while sobering to be remined how
easy it can be to get hurt.

    Cheers,
    Teresa
