    New Ridecampers,
     
    Three years ago, we had a brisk discussion on Equine Liability Statutes.  I tried to evaluate the various states' laws and their effect on our sport. 
     
    At that time, I tried to explain that many people were being forced to participate in suits by their own insurance companies because of what are referred to as subrogation rights.  I am not going to rehash the detailed legal analysis done in those posts (nor do I want to get into the event that gave rise to the posts in the first place) but for those newbies who are interested in learning more about these issues, go to Ridecamp Archives under author name and starting date and read these posts in order for a quick cram course on liability.
