Three years ago, we had a brisk discussion on
Equine Liability Statutes. I tried to evaluate the various states' laws
and their effect on our sport.
At that time, I tried to explain that many people
were being forced to participate in suits by their own insurance companies
because of what are referred to as subrogation rights. I am not going to
rehash the detailed legal analysis done in those posts (nor do I want to get
