Ridecamp: [RC] more OD

I keep waiting to see how many actually started the 50 - I think there were more than 100. I had my horse fall on me on the blacktop at the start last year (we still finished) and his buddy horse failed the pre-vet, so I decided to do the blacktop on foot and mount up on the dirt trail. At the first road crossing the spotter said I was 75th (I had passed 2 people since the start) so where were the other 25 or so people? I ended up riding most of the ride with the Fruth's and a guy named Tom on a nice mustang mare. He got the turtle award - this was his first ride. My little "super pony" Shadow was very well behaved for not having a buddy with him on a ride for the first time - it was also his first 50. He led our little group his share of the time and was pretty chilled out, finished in good shape, gut sounds were a bit slow(B's and B-'s), but he got mostly A's and a few B's. We were at each check about an hour before cut off so we were never in a hurry, he probably only cantered about
 20 strides all day. We left early Sunday so I missed the awards ceremony, hopefully someone will post the official results soon...
