If I'm reading your post right, your guy is fine with half doses, but had
this problem with a full dose of EnduroMax.  I'd say go back to using
smaller, more frequent doses (ie, a half dose every two hours instead of a
full dose every four hours, or whatever), and maybe experiment around with
the milder formulations, such as PNW instead of the Enduromax.  I know of a
bunch of horses that get uncomfortable with one but do great on the other.
If you are able to make sure he has some food in the tummy at the same time,
that will help as well.
