Re: [RC] [RC] Sun River ride - Brittany Murphy

SunRiver is a pretty flat ride. I did the 50 last year, it had some gradual long climbs and descends but nothing extreme at all.
As far as risking the ride, I think I'd be uncomfortable asking my horse to do a 50 when he's sore, especially if I didn't know what's causing it. Could it be the saddle? Even if it's just a little thing now, after 50 miles it could be a lot worse. If she's ~completely~ over it the week before, then the ride is easy enough you could try it. Be careful about mistaking your horses' enthusiasm for feeling good tho'. My gelding had a shoulder injury that had him lame for a month, of course he ran around his little corral every time I came out there. He looked pretty silly with his head and tail up, trying to convince me that he felt fine, limping all the while. He'd practically put his halter on himself because he wanted to come out for a ride so bad. How long has she been sore?
