RE: [RC] Keeping horse's cool - Dolores Arste

I ride a big boned Morgan and took the advise I got from an Ectra member
seriously and it has really helped.
Keep your slow gaits for the shade.
In the sun move along as the wind on a wet coat will help to cool. And, be
sure to put more and more water on.
Water on a hot horse heats quickly and will make them hotter if not
constantly changed. Just bucket it on and on and on. I also carry a scoop as
well as a sponge and scoop it on and on and on at the water stops or creeks.

    Dolores
