    I've used cruise control and overdrive with my new truck. Doesn't do any
excessive shifting but I have only used cruise out on the freeway, not in
hilly terrain. I have the new Chevy 2500HD with the 5-speed Allison tranny.
What a great transmission!

   I would definitly NOT do it with any of the "light " (one-ton or
less)trucks,with the - possible - exception of trucks equipped w/the Allison
or similar extra HD $$$$$ trannys available as options on some trucks.
