I think this is so important. In my breed (Icelandics) stallions are pasture 
bred;they run with other horses all the time. I know someone who keeps 2 
stallions and 2 geldings in the same pen. No problem. I've never had a 
problem with an Icelandic stallion on a ride. In fact, it is very common to 
have 2 or 3 when we go out in groups of 25 or so Icelandics. There is never 
any crowding, kicking, etc. Since all imported Icelandics are run in herds 
until age 4 they know the rules.

Also...I have never seen an Icelandic kick. When they "fight" in a herd it 
usually is a butt wrestle LOL

I think the best thing anyone can do for their horse is turn them out in a 
herd... I run my four horses together. In fact, if a friend comes over with a 
horse I just toss them out with my herd. Never any problems other than normal 
posturing and squealing...and butt bites if space is not respected!
