    [RC] speed - Larry Miller

I get to agree with Howard! YES! All of my horses travel at lower heart
rates at a trot than they do at a canter. However, an extended trot can up
the heart rate to just about equal what it would be at an easy canter. My
old gelding relaxes at his slow canter unless he is trying to get the lead.
My new guy and Maggie have low heart rates at a trot and they relax more at
a trot. It just depends on the horse. Jeanie
