A little fanny pack is great for cell phones
but yes, do make sure you wear it on yourself and not your horse. Also I pack a
first aid kit for me and one for my horse. Its just basic for both of us but
will be there when I need it. Let someone know what canyon/trail you are riding
in that day so when you don't show up later they know where to look. A police
whistle is a good thing to carry on you also next to that cell phone. I've often
thought a little lightweight flashlight would be nice. You don't want to be
lying there hurt when night falls.
