RE: [RC] Ulcer Research at Wine Country Rides - Mike Sofen

I would guess the distributors or makers of Gastrogard are paying for it -
they're giving away a free sample (that's a $35 tube at retail). They
charge about $32/tube in their 28 day treatment pack (about $900) which is
what is required to heal most ulcers, so they have a rather large vested
interest in expanding the scope of their markets in any direction.

However, it doesn't minimize the usefulness of the 'scoping - knowing for
certain that your horse does or doesn't have an ulcer would be great
knowledge to have and much cheaper than hauling your vet out.

I am investigating an alternative to Gastrogard and will report back with
    details in a few days.

Wonder who's paying for this? Amazing that they suddenly give a darn
about such a tiny sport when we're not where the money is. Think about
it...just how many really aggressive competitors are out there going for
    the win?
