[RC] stifled horse - Ridecamp Guest

    Kayla Sjess123@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi,I am what I guess you call a "lurker" and have learned a lot by reading all the posts on ridecamp. Now I have a question. It isn't really about endurance but I'm hoping someone out there can help me.
I have the opportunaity to get a 21 year old quarter/cross pony for my daughter. This would be a great way for her to get her riding skills down for endurance riding. He is a bomb proof horse and great with kids. The only problem is he might have a stifle problem on his right hind. He hasn't been diagnosed by a vet, but the owner has a lot of horse sense and can see it sometimes. He is on a pasture with rolling hills and runs up and down with no problem, and has never showed any lameness, but she wanted me to know this.
What I would like to know is if anyone out there has delt with this type of problem and what type of action did you take. This horse will not be used for endurance, just for putting the fine edge on the rider. Just easy walk/trot on trails. I don't want to put horse or rider in jeopardy. Please email me at SJess123@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Thank you
    Kayla
