Re: [RC] pyramid challenge - SandyDSA

Well, Angie, otehr than the mare or gelding remark :) - point well taken! We have a straight Egyptian Arabian stallion who has been successful both in the show ring and in endurance. We just could never hitch together the bucks to haul to Kentucky. Too bad they stopped having teh Event here in Los Angeles for lack of interest. You see, at it inception, Pyramid has been horribly exclusive and expensive, so many of us just wouldn't go, even when it was here. It was simply Egyptian halter, and even with the advent of "performance" classes, a few token ridden events, there was still nothing to motivate the owners of Egyptian horses who actually could DO something to spend that kind of dough. Too bad, because many SE horses are quite capable and athletic, and could be better showcased if they had a forum of activity instead of beaty queen stuff. We have a young stallion comnig this summer - a new stallion here - a straight Egyptian as well, and not because he IS SE, but because he is a buxom boy, 15 hands at 16 months old, a stunning flaxen - BLONDE - chestnut, with huge movement, and a tremendous trot on him already 2' PLUS overtrack at the medium trot! But he will probably never go to the Event either for the same reasons. Well, we have a ranch who is buying enough breeding shares in him to fuel a couple years' competition but one wants to plan judiciously!
