Re: long backed arabians

I am not necessarily advocating long backs, but two of the best horses I
have owned , were slightly long backed. Look up the records for Just
Freckles and Azzor Kishi- both were slightly longer than they were tall, and
carried middle to heavyweights all through their careers. Both have ride
histories that begin before the AERC computer records. Freckles was 13 when
she started and was lightly raced, though very successfully, and Oz (Azzor
Kishi) was 5 and raced over 3000 miles until he was 20. Neither one ever
had a back problem.

I would, however, stay away from those without STRAIGHT backs- a definite
'broken line' between back and top of croup, has not been successful for me,
and resulted in a horse that appeared to have back trouble. JMHO and few
years experience.
